As the plot thickens and becomes more complex, so do the puzzles, and you'll want to see the story through to the end--no matter how much you need to wrack your brains in order to complete the puzzle at hand.This is one of those games that you have to take a moment to digest after you've completed it. I'm not entirely sure what happened in the 40 chapters that transpired, though I'm sure there are some passionate forum posts somewhere arguing symbolism and the like, but what I am sure is that it was a sweet story that featured the simple love of a parent and child.The game is divided into Acts and each Act has a number of chapters--40 in all. At the beginning of each chapter you're given a snippet of story and then you are tasked with leading some fungi creatures called "Gammies" to their proper place on a white flower that acts as a helipad for them to use to take off at the end of the stage.In order to do that, you'll have to guide different coloured Gammies across/through obstacle. There are a few types with their own rules. None of the obstacles were actually named, so bear with my labelling. Beetle Bridges: only Gammies of the same colour can pass.Ferns: Gammies of the same colour cannot pass, but all others can. This applies to Gammies created by mixing colours; a purple Gammie, for instance, cannot pass through blue ferns.Shell Bridges: these look luke sea shells. Any colour Gammie can cross these, but they require a switch (or switches) to be pressed so that the two halves of the bridge meet.Colourizers: coloured devices that remove the their corresponding colour from Gammies. It can also add colour to a stripped white Gammie. White Gammies can pass through any fern, but cannot cross Beetle Bridges.Switch Bridges: these look like remote controls. Any Gammie of any colour can pass them, but a fused of Gammie cannot. You can only pass in a single direction once; i.e. if you cross from the left, you need to have a Gammie cross from the right before the bridge resets and allows another Gammie to cross from the left. These are introduced later in the game and add a new logical element to puzzle solving: you need to pass them a certain number of times in order to create a clear path for other Gammies to cross.Black Gammie: you’ll only see one of these at the very end of the game. They can pass over any bridge, but cannot go through ferns.The game is lovingly hand-drawn and the animations are adorable. It’s a joy to watch the Gammies stand at attention, run to an indicated area, and crouch down to appear as innocuous fungi when your attention shifts to one of its brethren. It has a very family-friendly vibe with its bright colours and cutesy sound effects. Meanwhile, the music is adequately atmospheric; energetic and bubbly in the appropriate places and somber and slow in others..Pros.The game looks great. It has a very distinctive art style.The music is peaceful and thematic.There is an interesting, if puzzling, story wound between puzzle solving segments.Puzzles get progressively more difficult and complex. Different elements are added at bit by bit and they all work together like a well-oiled machine.The puzzle mechanics themselves. There are quite a few of them and the variety keeps things fresh..Cons.No replay value. Once you’ve played through all of the puzzles, I can’t imagine you’d want to play again.The difficulty towards the end of the game ramps up fairly quickly. I got stuck on a puzzle for nearly an hour before looking up a guide.No explanation of elements beyond the very beginning of the game. This isn’t a huge issue, but it would have been nice to know that I needed to change my way of thinking once the switch bridges had been added..Bottom Line.This is a challenging puzzle game that’s definitely worth a playthrough if you’re interested in the genre. I recommend the game to story lovers, puzzle solvers, and those seeking an experience from a game that transcends the typical ‘get from point A to point B’ gig.She Remembered Caterpillars may not be my favourite puzzle game, but it’s definitely in my top ten.. It starts off easy, but the difficulty ramps up quickly; it's always a challenge. This game gives you plenty hours of puzzling fun.Although the concept of the game is easy, it may take some time to get used to some mechanics as it's not explained. You have to figure it out yourself which isn't a bad thing actually.9,5/10. I really enjoy puzzles and obstacles games so when I was shown this game I was really interested in it. It was a great game with beautiful artwork. I liked all the characters as well as the underlying story. The only thing I am sad about is that I finished it in 6 hours. I hope that there will be more levels added or new acts. I look forward to the next game!. It's pretty, the mechanics are interesting, and the first hour is pretty enjoyable. It's not a bad game. I wouldn't recommend it, though. I got it in a bundle, and it's not the type of game I would normally buy. The main reason I'm saying no is that the game gave me no compelling reason to keep playing. This is a problem I see in a lot of puzzle games. The short puzzles are fun and satisfying, but once I get to the more complicated ones, I start wondering why I'm doing this. Sure, you get some short, cryptic quotes at the beginning of each level, but they seem to have no relation to the game or the world in which the game takes place. It just comes across as pretentious.This would have been alleviated if there were something to break up the monotony and provide motivation, like maybe something brain-dead that lets you cool your brain off a bit and explore the lore of the world around you. Maybe celebrate your past victories in some way. As it is, it's just short puzzles, then medium puzzles, then long puzzles, then really convoluted puzzles, then you're done. I only made it through about the first 25 or so levels, so maybe there's a spectacular ending that makes it all seem worthwhile, but I kinda doubt it. I need more than that, and I think the average gamer does, too.This wasn't made for the average gamer, though, so if you're a puzzle game mega-fan, this game is for you, and this review is not. Buy it and enjoy your four hours of content.. SRC is a charming puzzle game reminiscent of electrical pathways. It starts out very easy, but quickly jumps in difficulty. I needed a guide to finish the last few puzzles. All together it was a nice package of art style, background music, and puzzle solving. Would recommend if you enjoy bite size puzzle games.Received in Humble Monthly
